Here are some recipes that you can use your Halloween Candy for. They're so good that I make them the rest of the year too.
Candy Bar Cookies-
(This is from Taste of Home and was published in the Fresno Bee last year.)
16 mini candy bars, 1 cup crushed (I've tried Snickers and Baby Ruth)
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt, I don't use it though
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
Combine flour, soda and salt, set aside. Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla and egg. Add dry ingredients in two separate additions. Mix in candy bar. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
* My Tips*
-Unwrap candy bars and freeze it Ziploc, hit with hammer to crush.
- Use a silicone baking mat, cookies are hard to get off due to the melted carmel. If you don't have a mat, grease the cookie sheet well.
- These spread out a lot so don't put the dough too close on the cookie sheet.
Milk Dud Cookies- Found here, (she calls them Chewy Surprise Cookies)
